HOW IT WORKS

Here is our standard procedure:

Step 1: Contact us with your requirements and we’ll provide you a customised quote.

Step 2: Once agreed, send us a backing and guide vocal track (mp3 format is fine) and lyric sheet (see "What We Need From You" below). Let us know when you’d like the session to take place in addition to what file types (WAV, AIFF etc) and bit rate you require (up to 96khz/24 bit) for the recording.

Step 3: The recording session will take place at the agreed time. If you wish you can listen in and remotely produce the session via Skype, or just leave it to us – it’s your choice!

Step 4: Once all the vocal tracks have been recorded, we’ll then email you a rough mp3 mix for final approval (if you haven’t Skyped in).

Step 5: Once approved, we then arrange payment (e.g. via Google Checkout which is instant).

Step 6: Once the payment is received, we then upload all the vocal files to our web server for you to download.

That’s it – user-friendly, quick, easy and hassle-free!

Fees and Payment

Our rates are very competitive and reflect standard market rates for session singers in the UK, but with minimal additional overheads. Quotes are fully inclusive of the session singer’s fee, studio hire and production costs. Email us for a quote specific to your requirements.

The quickest and easiest payment method is via Google Checkout (secure online payment service). All you need is an email address and credit card and the payment is immediate for both parties.

For those based outside the UK without a credit card, 'Moneygram' or 'Western Union' money transfer services may be used. These are not internet based and as a result require travel to the relevant offices for both parties.

For UK customers cheques, postal orders or bank transfer are acceptable forms of payment. However, the funds will need to have cleared before we can release the vocal tracks.

What We Need From You

When providing the backing tracks and guide versions for us to record to :

  • MP3 format is fine.

  • We will need both instrumental-only and guide vocal versions. If possible, please provide the guide vocal as both mixed with the music (for the singer to learn to song to) and also as a separate solo vocal without any background music. The "solo" version can be very helpful as sometimes the detail of what the guide vocal is doing can be obscured by the background music.

  • Please start your tracks from the beginning of a bar! Leave some blank space at the start if you need to. We will "consolidate" (i.e. bounce) the vocal tracks so that they start at exactly the same point as your backing track so that when you import the files into your system you will be able to snap them to start at the same spot and everything should line up quickly and easily.

  • Please don't fade-out the backing track at the end (in case we need to sing right to the end of the track).

  • Please specify the tempo (i.e. beats-per-minute) of your track.

  • Please specify the bit & sample rate that you require. We normally record in 24 bit / 44.1Khz WAV format.

  • Please provide the lyrics in either Microsoft Word or plain text format. Please check through the lyric sheet for any discrepancies with the guide vocal (otherwise we won't know which version is correct!).

  • If you have any questions or other issues then you only need to ask! :)

SKYPE - The Future Of Remote Producing!

Skype provides free (or very low cost) phone calls over the internet and is fully integrated into our studio setup. This means that you as the client can listen in and direct the vocalist(s) as required whilst the recording is taking place. This works best skype-to-skype (if you have skype installed on your computer) but will also work via your normal telephone.

The Skype software is free. If you want to download it or find out more just visit their website at: http://www.skype.com
